El Nilo, el m\u00edtico r\u00edo que divid\u00eda el mundo de los vivos y el de los muertos <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y un d\u00eda, despu\u00e9s de so\u00f1arlo tanto, navegamos por el Nilo, ese r\u00edo m\u00edtico que vio el esplendor de un imperio y cuyas aguas divid\u00edan el mundo de los vivos del de los muertos. En una de sus m\u00e1rgenes, las tumbas; en la otra, los templos. \u00a1Cu\u00e1nta sabidur\u00eda!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sab\u00edamos que la mejor alternativa para adentrarse en el coraz\u00f3n de Egipto es tomar un crucero de tres d\u00edas y tres noches. All\u00e1 fuimos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Iniciamos el trayecto desde El Cairo hacia Asu\u00e1n para, en cada parada, visitar los templos de Luxor, Karnak, el Valle de los Reyes, Edfu y Kom Ombo. Fueron 750 km a bordo de ese inabarcable r\u00edo de 6.800 km de longitud que cruza 10 pa\u00edses africanos.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Los cruceros y barcos de porte m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o, parte de la geograf\u00eda del Nilo. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

El paseo nos puso frente a los enclaves m\u00e1s importantes de la antigua civilizaci\u00f3n: a la necr\u00f3polis de Tebas, donde se encuentra el tesoro arqueol\u00f3gico del Valle de los Muertos, al Templo de Hatshepsut y hasta la monumental obra arquitect\u00f3nica de Abu Simbel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La experiencia nos sumergi\u00f3 en el pasado y en el presente y pudimos observar la vida cotidiana de quienes viven en las m\u00e1rgenes del r\u00edo, que ayuda a mitigar el calor del desierto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Egipto hoy est\u00e1 lejos del esplendor de la era de los faraones. Tiene una econom\u00eda emergente y es la m\u00e1s fuerte de \u00c1frica, pero se palpa la pobreza y la informalidad en los cientos de vendedores ambulantes en todo sitio; hasta en el r\u00edo. Nunca hac\u00edamos visto algo as\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los vendedores acompa\u00f1an en lanchas y en algunos tramos al crucero para ofrecer bell\u00edsimos manteles de buenas telas a los turistas. Hacen la oferta desde abajo, tiran la mercader\u00eda hacia la cubierta del barco con una piedra que se eleva, regatean el precio a los gritos y, si est\u00e1s de acuerdo, le tir\u00e1s el dinero atado. La transacci\u00f3n est\u00e1 hecha. Entonces, saludan con la mano y una reverencia, y se van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
